Shopping For Fashion On a Budget

When it comes to clothing, we tend to overspend. Instead of paying too much for certain clothes because of the brand or popularity/trend, we should look for cheaper version and work on a budget.

Working on a budget can help you be savvier with your money in the future and prevents you from overspending. The first tip is to not pay too much for trendy pieces as trends come and go. Why waste your money on a clothing piece that might be out of fashion in a few weeks when you can buy a cheaper version.

A second tip is to always check online for sales as it may come in handy whenever you go out to buy clothes. There are always seasonal sales so check in at your local mall and pick out a few staple pieces that you always wanted. This gives you an opportunity to buy expensive clothes at insanely low prices.

Every now and then you should invest in a luxury item. Think of it as investing in yourself and a spoil. I recommend getting classic items that are timeless like a leather jacket or a pair of Dr. Martens boots.

The fourth and last tip that goes in hand with the previous tip but is less on the expensive side is getting wardrobe basics. These include plain white t-shirt, long sleeved black and white shirts, classic blue denim jeans, a blazer, a denim jacket and at least one trench coat.

Shopping on a budget should be smart but also fun at the end of the day. Take this as an opportunity to save money and challenge yourself financially. In the end this will all benefit you in the future.

What a great post, I can totally relate to "shopping on a budget" it's something I've done from a very young age. My mom always says, it's not about how expensive an item of clothing is, but weather it suits you and that you comfortable in it.

And I'll be investing in more classical items, thanks for the tip. 💛🧡

I love this! I’m glad you mentioned that buying clothes that are on trend isn’t such a good idea. I usually ask myself questions like “If you buy this and take pictures, would your children laugh at your outfit or think you were fashionable back in the day?”

Keeps me from doing too much and potentially embarrassing myself
