Korean fashion is hailed as one of the best in the world and has become more popular in the recent years with influence from the K-Pop and K-Drama industry. The main problem with this is that it is hard to keep up with, as many of the trends are only trending now but is already old news in Korea. The following trends are popular in 2020 and 2021 but have been popular in Korea for a while now.

Denim is an everlasting trend but somehow the denim shorts fell off the wagon until a few years ago when it became trendy again. Distressed and ripped denim shorts is super trendy in Korea now especially because it is so easy to pair with any shirt. It is also quite affordable in Korea, and quite essential during the hot weather.

Pleated Skirts

This is a style that exists anywhere in the world especially popular for women in their 20’s. It is the ultimate Summer look in the capital of Korea, Seoul. This look can be paired with heels or a flat shoe like pumps or sneakers for a more casual yet playful look.

Chunky Shoes

This has been a forever-long trend in Korea. Chunky shoes like Fila are especially popular in the country. Chunky shoes can be described shoes with high soles and are extremely popular in the capital of Korea. It is not for everyone, this trend, but if you like expanding your view on fashion, look into this trend that does not seem to be going anywhere anytime soon.

Military/Combat Boots

This is a slightly unique style that is mostly popular in Korea. Combat boots that are covering the ankles, worn with a dress or skirt. It is especially popular in the springtime as in summer it would be too hot to wear boots.

Button-Up Dresses

This is a common style among women in Korea and is very formal as it is more elegant and less casual. In cold weather it can be worn with a button up blouse or a long coat and is quite popular in spring and autumn. It pairs well with heeled shoes or boots that add depth to the outfit.
